my favorite review of all time

positive reviews can be nice
but today i learned
that they can never be as gratifying
as a negative review
that dislikes for all the reasons you’d want someone to

from “musicincider

favorite quotes:

“Conversely, Lights Off is a prime example of some of their cacophonous tendencies that jar me. Some electronic instrument leads off with the main melody. It’s experimental, but not a pleasant sound. The electronic sounds and the classic rock instruments unpleasantly collide and explode at the end of Lights Off.”

“Overall, the CD feels chaotic. Maybe it’s throwing me off because they don’t throw in what I’m pre-programmed to hear at different places in a song.”

this is a happy day for 5000 reasons

I love how “unpleasantly” is used to describe the “classic rock-” “electronic” “concoction.” The reviewer can’t seem to grasp that keys/effects are in a lot of bands, or that there’s an actual genre called electronica.

schizophrenic pop has to be a new favorite. an lights off is a nasty track!
